A MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDER, DR. PRIYA NALKUR

How did this become my life?

Twenty years ago I had a dream: coach clients, climb mountains, and be financially free. Twenty years later I’m grateful that I’ve built that life, and then some.

I’ve grown a thriving coaching practice. I sing in a rock band. I keynote at major conferences. I've climbed active volcanoes, hiked glaciers, and slept under desert skies. I have three degrees from Ivy League Universities. I am deeply in love with a partner who wants to explore the world with me, and I have two children who are the light of my life. I even wrote a book (who knew?)! And I was named Austin's Coach of the Year.

How did this all happen? I ask myself that question all the time.

First, I believed the dream was possible. Second, I worked hard, with focus, discipline, and intention. Third, I faced old wounds, did the healing work, and refused to let my past determine my future.

Here’s the part where I tell you the truth: it wasn’t easy. Sometimes I wanted to quit. Sometimes doors opened unexpectedly. Effort, luck, timing - all of that mattered. So did courage, resilience, belief, and the willingness to keep going when the outcome was uncertain.

And when I lost sight of the dream, my amazing coach, Nancy Duncan (may she forever rest in peace and love!) helped clear the fog and reconnect me to what mattered most.

Now, at 48, my dream is different. I want to help YOU, too, build a life that feels deeply aligned with who you are and what you value. I believe we can all live with more meaning, more possibility, more joy, and more freedom. No matter where you are starting, change is possible.

Let's begin.

It’s time for me to be bold. Again. I hope you will join me.

The Center for Potential Maximization is not just about helping you realize your potential. It’s just as much about how your growth can become a force for good in the world.

WHY CPM EXISTS

Coaching shouldn’t be a luxury you can’t afford.

We believe financial circumstances should never prevent anyone from having the support they need. We offer sliding scale, barter arrangements, and limited pro-bono spaces for clients.

The Center is designed to make thoughtful, professionally guided coaching accessible while preserving the depth, care, and challenge that meaningful development requires.

compassion and challenge.

04

Accessibility should not require

reduced quality.

05

The client remains

the author of their life.

MEET PRIYA

The experience behind the work

A woman with short black hair, wearing hoop earrings, a white top, and a navy blazer, smiling outdoors with a blurred green background.

Priya Nalkur, Ed.D., brings together psychology, coaching, communication, leadership, and human development. Her work is grounded in helping people understand themselves more deeply, see new possibilities, and translate insight into choices that change how they live, relate, and lead.

A group of five young adults gathered on a balcony, sitting and standing in a semi-circle, engaged in conversation. The balcony has potted plants and colorful sticky notes on a wall. The woman on the right is holding cash and speaking, while others listen attentively. There is a glass greenhouse attached to the building and a closed umbrella nearby.

IN PERSON, BY DESIGN

Some conversations deserve more than a screen

CPM is designed around the power of being in the room together. A dedicated physical space creates distance from everyday distractions and makes room for attention, reflection, connection, and meaningful work.
